These are in a very rough order of preference - although really, that kinda stuff changes all the time. As much as some music critics like to lay claim to some sort of objectivity, I'm always suspicious of overly rigid classification, especially with music - it seems to be beside the point of a form that's always being revisited each time you hear it. Over the next little while I'll write up reviews for each of these, with links to the band or label sites or other places you might be able to listen.
